Too me the answer is yes. The game with all expansions costs far less over time than say WoW and is far better. It gives you more characters allowed, more classes such as Revenant available, etc. But, I had thousands of hours years ago (I loved GW1 and then got GW2 as soon as it became available in stores). No monthly fee. Players have the freedom to play together even if their friends are at a much higher (or lower) level. Players will be able to engage in organized, balanced PvP (similar to GvG in the original Guild Wars) without needing to first level up characters, find equipment, or unlock skills.
Hi All, Little bit confused about the DLC's for GW2. I originally bought the game on release day and played up to lvl 80 on 1 char but pretty much gave up there as I wasn't enjoying it much. I've come back to play through again with some friends who've bought the standard edition.
That is why they restrict it. Also, log in REWARD is a REWARD for purchasers of the game that happen to log in. F2P is rewarded enough with just playing the game for free. This. It essentially mimics 'loyalty' rewards like other games who give login/monthly tokens for paying for a subscription. Either expansion will unlock masteries (including Core Tyria) for you when you reach level 80 and do the first expansion story step. The story for both expansions require a level 80 character. The story chronologically takes place later than personal story or season 1-2. But that doesn't mean you have to do all of the story in order. Group content set ups almost always focus on dps, group offensive support (increasing everyones dps) and group utility support (portals, stealth, teleports, providing boons that reduce everyones cooldowns and increases attack/cast speed) Core Tyria (base game) group content: Open World Bosses. Usually easy and quick, tho there are a few that F4MLd2.
